Forest Explorers Summer Camp

Creating life-long memories in the forest

Forest Explorers Summer Camp at Carrie Murray Nature Center offers Baltimore youth an immersive week of outdoor exploration, creativity, and adventure in Gwynns Falls Leakin Park — one of the country’s largest urban forested parks! Campers spend their days hiking forest trails, catching crayfish in the stream, creating nature-inspired art, foraging for wild edibles, cooking over a fire, and meeting resident wildlife. The program supports curiosity, confidence, community-building, and deep connections to the natural world.

Campers are divided into two age-based groups: Saplings (ages 6–9) and Tall Trees (ages 10–12), allowing activities and exploration to be tailored to each developmental stage.
