How to register as a Carrie Murray Nature Center Volunteer:​
1. Read through the volunteer position descriptions below.
2. Complete an application with current background information. Necessary information depends on the position being applied for.

Please note that all long-term volunteers must be officially registered through Baltimore City Rec and Parks, which includes a background check and fingerprinting. Depending on the time of year, this process can take several weeks or months, so if you have a specific timeline for volunteering, we recommend that you plan ahead and call (410-396-0808) with questions.

Seasonal Events:​
If you are interested in volunteering for one-off events like mulching, spring cleanups, trash picking, or invasive removals, please sign up on this interest form. We will email you ONLY when we have events scheduled!

Front Desk Volunteer
Be the face of CMNC as you welcome visitors to the nature center; providing information on trails and local flora and fauna, and supporting daily operations.

Gardening & Trail Maintenance Volunteer
Support the center by keeping our campus photo ready! Tasks include weeding, pruning, mulching, trash picking, invasive removals, and more!

Education Support Volunteer
Assist staff with nature education programs like field trips, birthday parties, story time, preschool and more. Placement is based on interest and experience.

Animal Care Volunteer
Give our animal ambassadors some love! Learn the basics of animal feeding, cleaning, and enclosure maintenance for a variety of native species.
